      I haven't updated in so long... i just went through and scanned everyone's sites to see what is new.  Sounds like there's been some new adventures!

    Many things have happened this year.  I will point out the highlights.

    I went to an MTW retreat in Atlanta in March.  I was able to meet the Lungards, who will be going to Slovakia with MTW.  They are a great couple... fun personalities and great thinkers.  Kris wrote an amazing book, called "The enemy within".

    My best friend (in my Profile pic) was married April 14.  Very fun wedding!  And Travis and Leslie are happily married.  They live very close to me, so I am able to see them a lot!

    Zion church, which is the church I attend, caught on fire 3 weeks ago and was completely demolished this last week.  It is very sad that it came down, but God is making beauty of ashes.  The church is not the building.  It is the people!  We are seeing God use this for good in our own church and community.  We are now meeting at a church, which has extended it's arms to us during this time.  We will be working out a plan to rebuild.  Here are some pics...  (If you want more info...you can check out our website www.zionpca.com).

    Isaiah 61

     1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
         Because the LORD has anointed Me
         To preach good tidings to the poor;
         He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
         To proclaim liberty to the captives,
         And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

          2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
         And the day of vengeance of our God;
         To comfort all who mourn,

          3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
         To give them beauty for ashes,
         The oil of joy for mourning,
         The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
         That they may be called trees of righteousness,
         The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

          4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
         They shall raise up the former desolations,
         And they shall repair the ruined cities

    I cannot believe how time flies!  The summer is over, but I am so excited that it is fall! Oh, I had many moments of nostalgia for Slovakia!  It would be so fun to catch up with you all!  I guess I should spend more time looking at your sites!  My sister always mentions how I use so many exclamation points in my emails to her!  I really don't think it's that bad is it?!!!!

    So much has happened. I spent the summer teaching Kindergarten and 1st graders, for my job.  Our summer program was crazy!  I really felt and saw spiritual battles within myself and the kids throughout the summer, but it was amazing to see God working.  I miss our staff and my students quite a bit.  But, I've began at a new elementary school doing the before and after school program.  I have 14 students, which is quite a contrast from the 90 I had last year.  I'm liking it a lot!  I don't have any Teachers Aides, which is the downside.

    My best friend, Leslie, just became engaged this weekend!!!!  It's pretty exciting.  She's been waiting a while.  She will get married in April.

    Petra, I am not married yet.  I am still very single, but I'm enjoying it for the most part!  :  )

    I will try to keep up with you all better!!!

    Love, Jodi

  • This will be quick, because I don't have much time!  : (  I'm excited to hear from Lucia, Brynne, Lenka, Nina, and others who posted comments!!!!!  I miss you all! I am sorry I don't get to your sites!!!  I will have to updated about my life... this has been an amazing year! I'm also excited to look at your xangas and read about your lives.  I don't get to spend much time on the internet, because I don't have it at my house yet.  I will soon.  I'm a little behind the times!  : )

  • Still Here

    It's been a while since I updated!  I haven't been able to keep up in the xanga world because I work at an elementary school that blocks such sites and I only use the computer there.  So, my knowlege of your lives has suffered!  As well as your knowlege of my own.  I have been keeping busy with my Before and After School kids and all the other work that comes with my job.  I feel like work is life.  It's been hard, but I'm learning a lot in it!!!!  God is teaching me so much about serving and loving and disciplining!
    I'm loving my church family in Lincoln so much!  I think if I didn't have them, I don't know where I'd be!  This last week I was able to go to the home of a family in my church.  Sarah works at my elementary school as the Special Education Coordinator.  It's so fun that I get to build a relationship with their family and that I have that connection at school.  There are lots of Christian teachers and administrators at my school... my supervisor is a Christian as well. This is such a blessing!
    I'm home for the weekend visiting the fam!  My new picture is a family pic that was taken at Thanksgiving.  My bro isn't home right now, but I got to hang with my mom, dad and sis for the last 2 days.
    I pray that God is brining you all joy in your own lives.  I'm just learning so much about what it means to have joy through trials.  I pray that God is allowing you all to experience HIS joy in your own lives!  I'll have to read up on you all!!!!!
      I love you guys!  Oh, I want so badly to come to Slovakia this summer, but I don't know if God has that on my plate.  I'll keep praying about it though!
